Health and safety
Woodturning is not without potential hazards inherent in the fast spinning work, the sharp tools used, dust generated and flammability of some materials used. Members are encouraged to adopt safe working procedures including eye protection and dust extraction. New turners can benefit from membership of the BWA, or other similar clubs, as well as from demonstrations and courses held by proficient turners. Responsibility for their own actions lies solely with the person who is carrying out the woodturning and who would be expected to adhere to safe working practices at all times.
